Pomegranate is one of the most valuable fruits produced in the country. This plant is propagated by hardwood cuttings and requires a lot of time, care and money. Therefore, it is important to optimize the working method to increase efficiency. In the present study, pomegranate cuttings with a diameter of 15 mm and a length of 250 mm were prepared from mother trees at the end of February, and the effect of zero, 1000 and 2000 mg/l naphthalene acetic acid concentrations (quick cutting method) on the improvement of rooting and growth. It was checked. 150 days after the treatments, rooting percentage, root length and dry weight, stem length and diameter and number of leaves were evaluated. The use of naphthalene acetic acid increased the rooting percentage of pomegranate cuttings to 74% and led the accumulation of biomass from the stem to the root. The highest percentage of rooting was observed in the treatment of the application of 2000 mg/liter naphthalene acetic acid. The root length in the treatments using naphthalene acetic acid treatments was significantly higher than in the control treatment. The highest root dry weight, the highest stem length and the number of leaves were observed in the application of 1000 mg/liter naphthalene acetic acid. The treatment of 2000 mg/liter naphthalene acetic acid limited the shoot growth. The improvement of shoot growth in the treatment of 1000 mg/liter naphthalene acetic acid was related to the increase in the formation of secondary roots and the increase in growth-stimulating hormones. In general, the application of 1000 mg/liter naphthalene acetic acid was suggested to increase the efficiency of propagation and improve shoot growth of pomegranate hardwood cuttings.
