Abstract

Rootstocks study is very important because of their effect on many of cultivar characteristics. The purpose of this research is determination of the best rootstock and irrigation level in “Thomson navel” sweet orange from the point of view vegetative characteristics, yield and introduction the best rootstock and irrigation level in water efficiency. This project was done as factorial test on random complete block design with two factors irrigation included normal and deficit irrigation arranged to mean 0/84 and 0/42 m3 water volume and different rootstocks (in 6 level) in Khorramabad Citrus research station of Tonekabon. Results showed that fruit yield was upper than others in Citrumello and Carrizo citrange, with full irrigation and deficit irrigation. Water efficiency was upper in deficit irrigation than full irrigation. In deficit irrigation, Citrumello and Carrizo citrange rootstocks were upper. Citrumello has upper rootstock/scion diameter ratio and Carrizo citrange upper tree weidth than others in full irrigation circumstance. Finally, Citrumello and can be introduced as proper rootstocks in order to Citrus cultivation in north of Iran.
